Our new Panang Curry Paste is your shortcut to a proper Thai Panang curry at home. Rich, fragrant and full of creamy, nutty flavour. Panang (also spelled Phanaeng) is a classic Thai curry with roots in central Thailand, known for its thicker texture and its signature balance of coconut cream, roasted peanuts and aromatic spices, often finished with makrut lime leaf for that unmistakable perfume.

Panang curry has been a tried and tested long standing Farang menu favourite. Just fry the paste until aromatic, add coconut milk and your choice of protein & veg, then finish with peanuts and lime for a restaurant-level Panang in minutes.

We hand make all of our premium, fresh curry pastes every week at our restaurant, Farang. All our pastes are chilled and are shipped with ice packs. The reason we don't pasteurise our pastes is that the process changes the flavour profile and causes discolouration. We want the paste to arrive with you in exactly the same state it left our mortar and pestle in our kitchen.

INGREDIENTS

(Allergens bold/italic/underlined) Long red chilli, Thai shallots, young lemongrass, young galangal, peeled garlic, roasted peanuts, coriander seeds, gapi (shrimp paste), cumin, nutmeg, white peppercorns, fish sauce, palm sugar, makrut lime zest

DIRECTIONS

Serves 2

Heat and stir the paste in a saucepan for 2 minutes in hot oil. Add 300g roasted fruit/potatoes (or meat/fish), 300g of vegetables and 400ml of coconut milk. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with rice.
